Greystones Skateboard Park
This is a video about my local skateboard park. This is a really good activity for kids to get involved in especially for those who might not have an interest in or be good at sport. What really impressed me about the skateboard park was the peer support and camaraderie.
There are rules in place for the kids safety .e.g mandatory wearing of helmets to prevent head injuries, but it is largely self regulated with unwritten codes of practice in place such as dont drop into the bowl while another skater is using the space.
Again I think its really important to be involved in an activity and have peer support
I had a go myself and managed to stay on the board much to my amazement
