ABI video

5 February, 2010 (13:43) | Uncategorized | No comments

I worked as a Training Facilitator in the National Rehabilitation Hospital.
I produced a documentary on ABI “Living with an Acquired Brain Injury” with the help of the trainees in the hospital. The documentary is about the lives of 2 people with an an acquired brain injury and the impact it has them and their families.
ABI is often referred to as the silent epidemic and it can effect people in many ways including memory, insight and cognitive behavior issues. A everyday task for example like filling out a bank form can present difficulties and issues such as divided attention.
This clip features an interview with Gerry Mc Donnell. He gives an strong insight into ABI and how it effected him
He is a remarkable man and inspiration to others with an acquired brain injury

I produced this documentary on acquired brain injury with the trainees while working as a Training Facilitator in the NRH

EU Conference on Social Activism Online in Ireland

photo thanks to Red Mum cc
I attended the EU Social Activism Online in Ireland conference on Saturday. I found it very informative and I particularly liked the talk given by Zack Exley
He described the impact engaging with the blogging community had on Howard Dean’ election campaign. From trailing John Kerry quite substantly in the fund raising campaigh he ended up being the front runner mominee according to funds raised and left his rivals campaign team stunned.
Wheather your a fund raiser, small business, large corporatiion or political organisation blogging can have a significant impact in my opinion by engaging your readers, catching their interest and getting feedback.
Highlights from the conference streamed from my phone can be viewed on my previous post here
